About Penny Time
What Penny Time is
Penny Time is a free app where you are the bank: your kids get hands-on practice with allowance, saving, and investing, all tracked in the app without a debit card or a real bank account. Chore charts and the rest of our money lessons live in a free library of tools and guides at pennytime.app/learn that any family can use, app or not.
Why it exists
Most kids get their first real money lessons at home, but most parents are improvising. We build simple tools that turn everyday money moments - allowance day, chore payouts, saving for a goal - into practical lessons kids remember.
How it's funded
Penny Time is free, with no ads and no selling of data. We keep it simple on purpose: the app and these tools are how we earn families' trust first.
Who builds it
Penny Time is built by a small independent team. The app and this site are operated by Employee Of The Month S.L., a company registered in Spain; the full company details are on our legal notice page. Every calculator and guide on this site cites its data sources, and nothing here is financial advice - it's financial education for families.
How we research
Our guides and calculators start from primary sources - the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the IRS, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics - not other blogs. When a page gives you a number, like an average allowance or a tax threshold, it links to the source it came from so you can check it yourself.
Everything here is financial education, not financial advice. We are not a bank and not your financial adviser: use the tools to learn and plan, then make the call that fits your family. If you spot something wrong or out of date, email feedback@pennytime.app and we will fix it.
